Hi all,

I hope all of you are doing fine. This is a photo, again out of my front door with a telephoto lens, of the mountains in front of us just before sunset yesterday afternoon. The weather has been a bit more stable here lately, at least it’s close to normal in temperatures…that is, until TODAY! Now, it is snowing again. They said we may get some light rain, but there is 2″ of snow on my car as I type this. The snow thing is really getting old.

The family is fine, however, and I hope yours is too. Nothing new to report, Mickayla is completely mobile and crawling all over the place. She will be standing and walking soon. Oh yea, there was an earthquake here today, some damage, but I didn’t feel it. It happened near 7 a.m. this morning. Hopefully this place won’t become an ocean again as I live here. Peace, Mike.

Morgan’s Fort

Yep, we had so much snow that Morgan built a fort in the front yard. She has been having a blast building 2 other forts on the street with the neighborhood kids. The weather today is better, almost 50, but guess what is in the forecast for tomorrow, yep, 4 inches of snow, sigh. I hope your weather is better, love, Mike.

Dee Grandmother

Deana’s Grandmother celebrated a birthday at Dan and Diana’s home on Sunday. We had lots of food and a special candle. (You’ll have to ask her how old she is, she wasn’t volunteering.)

And we can’t leave out the Grandfather of the family. Peace, Mike

Guess what? It’s snowing today! #!@^%

Yep, it’s snowing again today, and guess what; it’s going to snow again tomorrow. The weekend, however, will be a heat wave. Yes, folks, it is supposed to get around 34 degrees for the high. I may put on a golf shirt. I notice that Virginia is in the 70′s today, well, I shouldn’t say those words in a blog. Love and rants, Mike

Anybody want some of this…

snow stuff! Ok, it has snowed here twice a week since Thanksgiving, and I am getting really sick of it. People have said on the TV that this year has seen the most snow since the early 80′s. Will somebody please inform Al Gore; no heatwave in Utah. We even took a vacation to Virginia to get rid of it and guess what happened? Yep, they had the coldest week of the year with snow, figures.

This is what it looks like out my front door, today, February 4, 2008. It took me 3 hours of shoveling yesterday to remove the 14 inches of snow we got on Sunday. And for you kiddies, they don’t close the schools here when it snows, they just cancel the buses, and then you have to find your own way to school. I hope the weather where you are is much better. I miss my 50-60 degree winters. Love and rants, Mike

Lauren and Morgan Prepare for Wedding

Here is a little sneak preview of one of the pictures from Lauren’s wedding. This is mostly to tease The Phlegar’s. Deana took over 850 images in those 2 days, so she has a lot to go through to get organized. She is starting to work on them (that is, I am starting to color correct them) now, and it probably won’t be too long (a year or two).

Hope all is well, Love, Mike

We just got back…

…a few weeks ago from a trip back to Virginia. The occasion was the marriage of my niece, Lauren. Deana was the photographer at the wedding so we had no choice but to cart the kids from Salt Lake City to Virginia, in a connecting flight, for about 6 hours each way. Morgan picked up a virus out there and had to spend 1 night in the hospital last week with intravenous medication that would dissolve the acidic enzymes in her calf muscles that the virus caused. Whew…!

This is what it looks like in Virginia in January. Not too bad, much better than the white stuff that seems to fall every other day here in Utah. This is off the highway from Charlottesville to Washington, D.C.

Four of the 7 days we spent out there were travel days. That makes the whole trip a whirlwind. It was great seeing the family and some of my friends from the paper, even though it was too brief. We have a nephew getting hitched in August. Maybe we will try the trip again. By August we may be rested enough to try it.

I will update again soon, Love to all, Mike
