The Temple

This is a shot of the temple all lit up for Christmas. It is absolutely breathtaking at night in person.

This is inside the North Visitors Center. About a million people a year view this Christus statue. It sits in a room surrounded by the universe. It is outstanding.

This is the pipe organ in the original Mormon Tabernacle. How would you like to get up on the 5-keyboard organ and play “Smoke on the Water” with that!

This is the chapel on the grounds. It looks beautiful decorated for Christmas.

This is the reflecting pool on the Church office grounds that faces the front of the Temple.

Deana took all of these photos on Wednesday night. The weather was cooperating and it was beautiful that night. The next night we got 6 inches of snow, so we are really glad we chose that night to go up to Salt Lake City.
I hope all of you are doing well, we miss you. We hope you have a Merry Christmas and get everything you want. Peace to you all, Love, Mike.

So here we want to share with you our visit to the annual CABIN trip with the Rice family in Sundance Utah. As you can see it is a beautiful scenic spot tucked away in the Provo Utah Canyon. This is the second time for Mike and the third time for Morgan and I. My Father and his Wife Diane have planned the cabin trip every year for the past 14 years. It involves a lot of family time, food, and fun. The first night was Morgans birthday. Morgan has not had a birthday that has not been filled with drama! Morgans first 3 birthdays in Virginia started and ended with a snow storm. Her fourth birthday…

we wont talk about! And now her 5th birthday she was so excited to go to school and share her birthday cup cakes, as she was playing ( climbing on something she should not!) she fell and had a mild concussion, and spent the night sick to her stomach. The next morning she was fine and went sledding with the kids. We then had tons of food and we sat around talking with family. We opened our white elephant gifts, ( boy there were some dozzies! ). We ended the night opening gifts and bonding as a family! We can’t wait for next year, it looks like we will need a bigger cabin!

Out the front door – Dec. 2007

Hi all,
We got a bunch of snow on Saturday the 8th. It snowed feet in the mountains, but only about 6-8 inches in the valley. It started on Saturday afternoon and lasted through Sunday morning. It made Deana’s drive pretty miserable, and she was late getting in, but all safe. One thing for sure, it makes the Christmas lights and music more enjoyable. It actually feels like Christmas around here. I understand from my brother that it is about 60-70 in Virginia about now. Time to break out the “holly” scented sunscreen, lol.
I hope you are all well and getting ready for Christmas. Our love to you, see you soon.
