Thanksgiving Scenes from Utah, 2007

Hi All!
Here are some photos from Thanksgiving this year. These photos were taken at Dan and Diana Rice’s home, which is beautiful. Diana and Deana’s mom (gets confusing with all the “D’s), did all of the cooking, with Dan doing the slicing. We ate our share of the 5000 calories that the average person eats on Thanksgiving, probably bested that number. We were stuffed as ticks afterward, and it took some laying around to get over it, What a holiday!

Family at Timpanogos Temple

Hi Everybody…
This photo was taken Saturday, November 17, 2007. The children were sealed to us on the anniversary of the day Deana and I were sealed together in 1995. ( For all my non-Mormon friends, a sealing is an ordinance of joining together a husband and wife, or children to their parents for all time, and through eternity.)
And for those of you who know me, I don’t wear ties for just anything so you can tell it was a special day. We had lots of family members there to watch, (anyone who can enter the temple can witness). Afterward we went to my Brother and Sister-in-law’s home where she prepared a great lunch of several soups and lots of goodies.
We appreciate all who came to the sealing and who stayed for the lunch. It was great seeing a lot of relatives (Deana’s) that I haven’t seen in awhile.
We are doing fine and getting ready for Christmas and Thanksgiving (tomorrow, can you believe it!) and for my mother’s visit on the 17th of December. Deana is working overtime, you know how the retail trades are at this time of the year. Morgan has a birthday on the 14th of December. I can’t believe she will be 5 years old, whew, where did all the time go.
I hope all of you  are well and I extend my blessings to you for a Happy Thanksgiving. Love, Mike

Mickayla’s Official Day

Well it is now official. As of 2:30 pm MST today, Mickayla is permanently and officially a member of the Phlegar family, poor thing. The adoption is now final, and after mountains of paperwork and mountains of cash, our newest daughter is now a Phlegar.
We had a bunch of family here in Utah come to the court and witness. In Utah the courts make it a family affair, as if you are taking the baby home from the hospital. In Virginia, they just send you a paper saying everything is now legal. And though the family from Virginia was not here, they were not forgotten, and are in our hearts.
Well gotta run, we are almost out of boxes and suitcases and living like we really live here. We are looking forward to some visitors from back east now. Come soon. Love, Mike

Happy Halloween!

Mike and Mickayla

Hi all,
Here is a shot of me and Mickayla at a fall festival chili picnic held by Deana’s brother’s ward. A storm was rolling in over the mountains and although it was fall temperatures, the wind made it really cold. The baby was getting some pink ears and nose, so we didn’t stay long.
The next the day the temps were back up in the low 60′s, which it has been for awhile, really nice. I hope all is well where you are and know that we miss you.  Love, Mike
