We went to a Halloween party for kids at the Legacy Center in Lehi this evening. There were lots of games for kids, and tons of people all dressed up for Halloween. Morgan did some trick-or-treating and won the vampire teeth in one of the games they had set up for kids. Surprisingly, they will celebrate Halloween on Halloween, although they will have a “trunk-or-treat” at the church. I am told the kids around here start roaming the neighborhood at around 2pm on Halloween. Morgan has another party to dressup for on Halloween at her school, and then later that night.

What are you going to be…? Love, Mike

This is a photo from today of Mickayla hangin’ out in her stand up play thingy. She is already wearing hand-me-downs from Morgan already. Aunt Sue gave this shirt to Morgan and now Mick gets to try it out. That’s all, Love, Mike

Making Snow Angels

Hiya All,
This is from Sunday, a couple days ago. Morgan spent the morning getting wet and having fun playing in the snow. The snow was light and only coated the grass, but she had fun making snow angels. More to come. Love, Mike

Out My Front Door in October

Hi all,
I bet you didn’t wake up to this where you are. It is October 21 and I took this photo standing in my living room with the front door open this morning about 8 a.m. Those of you in Virginia are probably jealous, since you will have high 70′s and dry weather today. This was a pretty easy, quick storm that dumped in the mountains and got cold enough to blanket the grass, no snow on the streets, but it is beautiful.
I hope this finds you all well and we miss you. Love, Mike

The trip…in pictures

Starting out in Vinton, Va, at my brother’s house.

Crossing Illinois and through a town Deana and I used to live in, off Zumbehl Rd.

This crossing from Kansas up into Nebraska, was a long trip through Nebraska and Wyoming. Whew…

The Wyoming border, we thought we would never get there.

This was a long part of the trip. Lots of hills going across Wyoming. Sometimes the truck would only hit 45 mph. I underestimated how long this leg of the trip would be, in a car, the hills never slow you down. It was painfully long with at least 3 fuel stops in Wyoming.

Finally, crossing into Utah near ski country.

MADE IT! This is the neighborhood. We made it to Utah, and boy were we beat. Of course the next day we had to unload the truck and take it back to Penske. Alan got the wedding dress the next day then helped unload and then took a 10 hour (due to connections) flight home on Friday. He was a great help to me and I really appreciate it.
Well, that was the trip, more postings to follow. I hope everyone is well and please comment or email me so I know how you are doing, plus, I may have your email addresses locked up on one of my packed-up computers.

Till next time, Love Mike

We have arrived!

Out My Front Door

Hey family and friends,

We finally made it to Utah. My brother Alan and I managed the trip from Roanoke, VA. to Lehi, Ut. It took 3 days of really hard driving of almost 16 hrs. per day. We only had one mishap outside of Nashville when a tire on the car trailer completely blew up and left us on the side of the road for 3 hours while Penske sent a repair truck.
We are here, but not completely unpacked yet. This is the reason for the late posts. All the computers except this 800 G4 are still packed, as we sort through the boxes. At least the cable is hooked up and I am finally on-line again!
The photo above, no joke, was taken yesterday standing in my living room looking out of the front door. How is that for a view! It is beautiful here, and the weather has been great, feels like Autumn, not summer as it was in Va. We have a great house we are renting with plenty of room, so we will be ready for visitors anytime.
Well, gotta go take care of the kids. This is just the first post, now that we are here, and many more will follow now that we are connected. I hope all is well, and I miss you already.

Love, Mike
